Three Chinese Folk Songs for Zheng and String Orchestra (2019) is commissioned by the Women’s Orchestra of Arizona in celebration of women composers. The composition will receive its premier in January 2021.
Hymn Tunes (2010) is a variation on three traditional hymns: All Creatures of our God and King, Be Thou My Vision, Panis Angelicus. Hymn Tunes was selected as one of five winners of the Jean Coulthard Reading Session and the piece was performed by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
Choral
A Night Mooring near Maple Bridge ‘枫桥夜泊’ (2017) is a TTBB composition based on one of the best known poems from the Tang Dynasty, also known as the golden age of poetry. This poem, amongst several others, is a literary inscription found in Lan Su Yuan, a Classical Chinese Garden in Portland that grew out of a friendship between the sister cities of Portland and Suzhou, a Chinese city renowned for its ancient gardens.
The piece is commissioned by the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus in celebration for their China Tour in 2018. Portland Gay Men’s Chorus is the first LGBTQ chorus to tour China.
NüShu Sisterhood (2016) is an SSA composition inspired by the stories and songs of the women in Hunan Province, China, who created the NüShu script. The poem draws on specific phrases and symbolism found in ancient NüShu writings and serves as a reflection of the lives and intense emotions of sworn sisters despite oppression and forced isolation.
Scarborough Fair (2010) is an SATB arrangement of the traditional English ballad about the town of Scarborough, infused with spoken rhythmic passages in the middle that serves to heighten one's sense of longing.
Laudate Dominum (O, Praise the Lord) (2010) is a lively and majestic SATB arrangement of Psalm 117, the shortest of all 150 psalms. The music celebrates and exclaims the greatness of God.

Dance music has always been a huge fascination of mine. When presented with this combination of instruments, I thought of giving each instrument a unique role and combined them in a similar manner as would a group of dancers.
A Winter Tale of the Raga Maulkans (2009) for String Quartet
Inspired by the Indian Raga (melodic modes) Maulkans as well as the sounds of Indian classical music, I wrote this piece for western instruments to imitate the sounds and stylistic traits of traditional Indian instruments.
